Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality and Mixed Reality are evolving. Sometimes at a steady pace, sometimes in fast thrusts. We accompany this exciting process since 2016. We have witnessed how plots overwhelm us when storytellers tear down the mediated walls and invite us to come real close. How enterprises can use emerging tech to maintain infrastructure and teach employees. How patients overcome their fears and doctors perform better with the help of VR, MR and AR. How interactive fun conquers another dimension.
The VR NOW Awards are the first European awards dedicated to experiences in Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality, Mixed Reality and Cinematic VR. An independent expert jury honors great achievements in four categories. The Grand Prize celebrates the best project of the year, selected from all nominees in the other categories.

VR NOW GRAND PRIZE
You’re simply the best, better than all the rest. The VR NOW Grand Prize is for ambitious and daring experiences, the extraordinarily beautiful, the tech wonders, the most empathetic and moving. Better than anyone, anyone I ever met.
ENTERTAINMENT AWARDS
Cinematic VR experiences and VR games allow us to discover fantastic realms which immerse us fully, give us new perspectives on storytelling and make us jump and run for real. Such infinite possibilities have to be exploited, and excellence in these must be rewarded – with the the Cinematic Experience Award and the Interactive Experience Award.
All submitted projects will be reviewed in two rounds by independent juries composed of renowned authors, founders, curators, journalists, investors and other representatives of the XR, technology and media industries.

Cinematographers have found a new playing field, which they master better and better. The awe and wonder of next generation storytelling is worth an award.

Grown up in a world of video games, interactive experiences and VR games are the logical next step for a generation that needs agency, not latency. Surrounded by friends and enemies, caught in the action, we get physical in a virtual world. XR games sound like fun, don’t they? So why not give them an award?

Each of the nominees will also receive the possibility to show their project during the event and a mention in the pre-event press release.
Each of the award winners will receive a famous VR-Winkebär trophy, a 1-year VRBB-association membership and a mention in the post-event press release, in addition to the honor that goes with winning a VR NOW Award.
